Take a Deep Breath and Dive into the Internals of Conficker - Conficker Analysis
Conficker has created a significant, public interest in malware. There was hardly any newspaper, TV channel, or new-site that did not reported about this threat. Up to now, it is the malware with the largest observed propagation with several millions of infected systems. What is its key to success and why is it so hard to get rid of it? Is it really that evil and what can be done against it? Felix Leder and Tillmann Werner from the University of Bonn have taken Conficker apart and have stumbled across lots of interesting details. The talk will take you on a journey that shows reverse engineering techniques and how they can be used to derive countermeasures.
