As the transition to the post-quantum era moves closer, businesses, policymakers and the technical community face a crucial question: How can digital infrastructures prepare for new cryptographic requirements without weakening the security and confidentiality provided by strong encryption?
To mark Global Encryption Day 2026, eco – Association of the Internet Industry is bringing together representatives from European institutions, industry, civil society and the technical community for a focused hybrid lunch roundtable in Brussels on 14 October 2026.
Under the title “Post-Quantum Ready – Securing Encryption for Connected Mobility”, the discussion will explore what the transition to post-quantum cryptography means for connected mobility, V2X communications and the security of increasingly digital and connected transport systems.

Together, participants will discuss what organisations need to consider when migrating existing systems to post-quantum cryptography and which technical and policy conditions Europe needs to enable a secure transition.
Particular attention will be given to protecting and strengthening end-to-end encryption as a foundation for secure and trustworthy digital communications. The roundtable connects the fields of cryptography, cybersecurity and connected mobility and asks how digital and mobility infrastructures can remain resilient in the quantum era.
